Sweden celebrates Lucia day on December 13, when the days are at their shortest and the nights are longest. Lucia and her maidens arrive in a glow of candles to sing traditional songs and share food. We were fortunate enough to be invited to attend this ceremony at The Swedish Church with our neighbours Barbro, Olof, and Evelina. |

After the ceremony we were offered coffee and glögg. Glögg is a mulled wine which is probably an acquired taste!! We also enjoyed lussekatter, sweet saffron flavoured buns, and ginger snaps. |
