The first weekend of September saw Kohanga taking part in a touch tournament near Heathrow. We showed up and dazzled our opposition with our Haka and our Tamariki. Unfortunately our actual ability to play touch didn't quite match the enthusiasm we showed in our Haka! Lucky we had our tamariki on the field to save us though :)
The day wasn't a total loss. We won our first game (the opposition heard how awesome we were and didn't turn up). We then lost the next five games but we covered ourselves in glory by winning the plate final at the end of the day. Our pace out wide and cunning in the centers was too much for the opposition :)
It was an awesome day out and our tamariki had an absolute ball and really made their presence known around the park :)

No she didn't play for us. Great expression on the girls face behind her though :) |
