October 14 and 15- Blackpool

Well we really didn't know what to expect from Blackpool. Our worst fear was that Blackpool was the Brighton of the North, however, thankfully, that wasn't the case!

What we did find really surprised us. Blackpool was actually quite pleasant and we absolutely loved the Blackpool Tower and Illuminations (which, with our friends Maina, Andrew and their kids) was the main reason we had decided to go to Blackpool.
It probably helped that it was a gloriously sunny weekend but even so the waterfront was really nice. Clean, lots of families around and acres of space to wonder in. Oh and the trams were...well, noisy! :)
And how cool was the Blackpool Tower?!?! We went to the circus that was be performed in the tower and had an absolute blast! It was probably one of the funniest and coolest circus's we have ever been too. The kids and Scott were virtually rolling in the isles with laughter :)
The great thing about the tower is that it was great value! Lots of entertainment going on all day long and food, unlike most other "tourist" traps we have been in, was actually really reasonably priced! We sat for what seem hours watching the ball room dancing in the main hall too.

Saturday night was dinner at a Chinese restaurant, which was really nice.

After dinner we went for a stroll, jumped on a tram and went and had a good look at the illuminations!
