The Grand Slam!

The last weekend in November saw Scott, Jason, Adam and Stan heading up to Scotland to watch history bring created as the AB's took only their second Grand Slam of the home nations. On Thursday night it started to snow in various parts of Great Britain, the South was particularly hard hit with that part of the country coming to a stand still. Scotland received quite a bit of snow and many kiwis flying up from London on Friday night had their travel plans thrown in to chaos when Edinburgh airport was closed.

However the closure of the airport meant nothing to us as we were driving up! We left London around 7pm and arrived in Leeds at 2am Saturday morning. After a quick whiskey and an even quicker sleep we were back on the road the following morning!

We made the mistake of letting Adam sit in the front and navigate us to Edinburgh. As we quickly found thick green roads in Scotland are not the same as thick green roads in England (which are generally double laned highways instead of the twisty single lane road with no passing lanes we now found ourselves driving along). Adams last words were "yeah she'll be right its a thick green road on the map" as we turned off the motorway. However not all was lost as we did discover an "All Year Christmas Shop" in deepest, darkest Scotland, which around June/July might actually come in handy! :)
