City Walk - London
Our family day out walking around London began at Green Park which we walked through to Buckingham Palace. Alas the Guards weren't parading so we continued on to St James' Park and Westminster Abbey and then on to Trafalgar Square.
While we were at Westminster Abbey we met one of the stewards who took us on an inpromtu tour of the Abbey's grounds. He showed us where criminals used to be brought up before going to the tower for their punishment, pointed out the street where Mary Poppins was filmed and regailed us with stories from the Queen Mother's centenary celebrations.
It was an excellent day out for the family and opened Whaea and Whetu's eyes to just how nice a big ugly city like London can be on a fine day! Even if Whetu still thought it was just like being in Wellington.
