SUNDAY 9th of April

On Sunday we decided to go to Vondel Park but on the way there we stumbled across the Heineken Experience!

So 10euros later we were in walking around Heineken's old brewery. It was actually a lot better than we were expecting. Some parts of it were as tacky as Madam Tussaud in London and other parts were really interesting!

There were some really cool interactive displays where you could send emails, send pictures or even record a video and then email that as well!

BUT best of all...you get free beer on the tour :) Nah, best of all was the fact that it was actually really good value. Not only did you get three glasses of beer but at the end you got a free Heineken glass in a aluminium case!

After finishing at the Heineken Experience we continued down to Vondel Park but first we stopped at the Hard Rock Cafe for Lunch. THEN we headed on to the park and visited the Van Gogh museum.

We hadn't realised he had only been painting for 10 years! But it wasn't until we had seen some of his paintings that we started to wonder "why is this guy considered a master?". Compared to Rembrandt the guy was an amateur (we know, we saw Rembrandt's stuff on Saturday! :) But never the less it was quite cool looking at Van Gogh's Sunflowers.

On the way back to the Houseboat we watched a boat go under a bridge but then heard a crunching sound as the start of the bridge was higher than the other side! The boat had got stuck under the bridge! :)

After some pushing, shoving and cursing the guys on the boat eventually managed to get through the other end and continued on their way as if nothing had happened (except for the cheering kiwis on the side of the river no one would have ever noticed:)

Actually bridges in Amsterdam MUST be better built than here in London because when boats run in to our bridges they are then shut for the next 6 months! :)
