Edinburgh Military Tattoo
This is what we really went to Scotland for...the Edinburgh Military Tattoo! Eimii had an absolute ball during the nights entertainment and is keen to go back again next year with Whetu!
The crowd heading towards the castle. One of the draw backs with the venue is that because its staged at an old castle there is only one way in and one way out. So there are lots of delays as several thousand people try to cram themselves along the street! |
Poor lady being squashed by her husband and son in front of us :) |

The Imps. A motorcycle group formed by kids aged around 7 years old! |

These Highland Dancers are from New Zealand. |

Russian Cossacks. |
Perhaps the best act of the night. Norwegian conscripts in action! These guys spend their 2 years of national service in the drill team! |
|
The theme for the night was the celebration of Nelsons victory at Trafalgar 200 years ago. |

The massed bands on parade! |
And its all over. We had to wait in the stands for the massed bands to clear from the area below the stadium. |
