Willkommen zu Baden-Baden

The girls and Scott spent several days tiki touring around Baden-Baden and at Europa Park in early January while Michelle had a couple peaceful days to herself in London (as school had started again and she had to go to work!). So armed with a thorough understanding of the German language, thanks to looking at the pictures in Commando war comics from the late 70's Scott and the girls headed off looking for adventure and excitement!

Baden-Baden can be found in the Blackforest and is the home of Hansel and Grettal, Cuckoo clocks and the Blackforest Gateau. Unfortunately Scott and the girls didn't find any of these (perhaps the wolf finally got Hansel and Grettal, all the Cuckoo's had flown south for the winter and who had eaten all the pies?)

Lunch time! Giant pretzels, or are they? Brezels, as the girls found out, aren't the same as pretzels! And no, they didn't get McDonalds :)
The girls enjoying the warm thermal water Baden-Baden is famous for, this fountain is in the main street.
Playing muck-yuck in the Bergbahn as we climbed to the lookout on Merkur Mountain.
Cable car coming the other way.
Can we have McDonalds for dinner if we smile long enough? :)
There was snow at the top of the cable car and the girls made use of it as best they could, mainly by throwing it at each other :)
Eimii making a snow monkey.
Narnia :)
Whetu arming herself!
Looking towards the centre of Baden-Baden.

Our hotel was awesome! We stayed at the Sofatel Hotel which is right in the centre of Baden-Baden!

It had its own thermal spa, which the girls spent as much time as possible in! The pool had its own giant spa pool and also had a couple big water falls!

Breakfast was also awesome! Easily the best we have had yet at any hotel in Europe (only the raw egg and weird white stuff in Thailand out did our hotel for the breakfast experience :)

Looking back towards our hotel (5 stars no less! :)
