Karen and Paul visit - February 2005

Christmas to New Years - What a week!
Our first year raced to an end. For us in London it was an incredibly busy time. Eimii had two concerts to prepare for; her school theatre club performed Oliver and kohanga participated in the Ngati Ranana Christmas concert. For the first time ever, we celebrated Christmas on our own. This included organising Christmas Dinner, a feat we're very proud of. Boxing Day saw the beginning of the tummy-bug travel through our place which finally ended on New Year's Eve. This meant for a quiet welcome to 2005 although we did manage a few laps of the Greenwich Ice Rink.

Sankta Lucia, Swedish Celebration. 11 December 2004
Sweden celebrates Lucia day on December 13, when the days are at their shortest and the nights are longest. We were fortunate enough to be invited to attend this ceremony at The Swedish Church in London with our neighbours Barbro, Olof, and Evelina.

NZ 26 - Wales 25. 19-21 November 2004
It would be a massive understatement to call the game between Wales and the All Blacks "a friendly". The Welsh are so much more than that! Millennium Stadium provided a magical setting for a spectacular show. Our accommodation for the weekend was in a vineyard just outside of Cardiff. Wales and wine don't seem like they should go together (it's not quite Marlborough!).
